West Pryde was called to the British Columbia bar in 2021 and maintains a broad defence practice spanning criminal, driving, and administrative law, including civil forfeiture and ICBC-related matters.
West represents clients facing a wide range of criminal and quasi-criminal allegations across the province. He is known for a disciplined, strategic approach to litigation, with particular attention to evidentiary and Charter issues, and for advancing negotiated resolutions where they best serve the client’s interests. His practice includes defending civil forfeiture proceedings and ICBC disputes, where he works to protect clients’ property, driving privileges, and financial interests.
He approaches each file with a clear objective: to achieve the strongest possible result while managing risk and minimizing collateral consequences. Whether through contested hearings or negotiated outcomes, West provides direct, practical advice so clients can make informed decisions at every stage.
West earned his Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of British Columbia.
In addition to his private practice, he has contributed to access to justice initiatives through the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program at the Carnegie Community Centre and his work with the Innocence Project, supporting individuals seeking to overturn wrongful convictions.
