Hapin was born and raised in China and is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese.
Before graduating from law school at the University of Victoria, Hapin received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. While at law school, Hapin provided legal advice and services to clients and worked as a student researcher for the BC Freedom of Information and Privacy Association.
Following her articles at a criminal law firm specializing in driving cases, Hapin set up her own practice defending clients facing criminal cases and driving charges. Hapin has demonstrated a strong set of legal skills and abilities and has gained experience assisting clients on a wide range of legal cases including sexual offences, violent offences, property crimes and driving matters.
Hapin joined Filkow Law in January 2025 as a Barrister in the firm’s criminal and driving litigation practices.

Anthony Robinson, and West Pryde did a great job resolving the case, by finding non-biased witnesses on my side, and getting the case dropped without resulting in a trial, Anthony was very polite courteous, and knowledgeable. My case just finished and I wanted to thank Mr. Filkow I don't want to detail the circumstances of my case because they still make me very upset. But there were serious allegations against me which have recently been dismissed meaning the case has been dropped. Mr. Filkow was an excellent lawyer from beginning to end - he is very smart and his instincts are great.
